Sorry, but what ever happened to etiquette ?

about etiquette glamour mag review

I was really delighted by an article I have read on the july UK Glamour magazine about the etiquette in the differents areas of life from Diner’s, to birthday, telephone call, e-mails contacts or internet, the treatrement was deliciously ironic but so comforting for me.

whatever happened to etiquette glamour britishIndeed, as far as I’m concern, I’m very sensitive to goods manners and even if etiquette may change from a cultural to another, there are still « basics » behaviors that make the difference.  Fortunately I had the chance to travel a lot and met different kind of people for my work and the report let no equivocal  : etiquette is vital to every aspect of professional interactions. Since then I’m thinking about the netiquette !

What about you ? Do etiquette matters for you or do you think is a old fashion question ?

  1. Good lord cibi, there too much to say about it, of course good manners matter for me. I’ve been rise up by my grand parents and I guess Ilearned it from them : practice what you preach. No doubt sweetie, is in the family home, where it should starts, where « the social manners » are planted and nurtured. This is how I’ve been teach, and this what I do with my own child, because, they learn not only good manners, but also core values and ethics.

    1. I Can not believe all the messages you left me on september Rob. Well I know it not so easy to make long debate on the net, but from time to time it is nice to say things right.

      1. The tragedy of our society Grace is that a lot of parents leave education to school and it’s not the rule of teachers to educate but to teach. If you arrive to school and you don’t know what is wrong or right to do with others it’s a very bad start in life. And I can say also that television don’t give a good example, today when you listen to some journalist you ca’t be surprise that young people copy those bad language and attitude.

  2. I’m not the only cibi what can I say, you’ve been missed my dear. Anyway it was preach and not teach for my granny.

    1. I just love your grand parents prescription : practise what you teach ! Thanks for your opinion my dear, short but so deep.

  3. I agree with you Grace. I think that etiquette is an important part of everyday life. A person who displays proper etiquette shows respect for himself as well as for others. And you do.

    1. Welcome ! Most of time, lack of good manners is also a lack of education, confidence and self esteem. In general I behave with people like I treat yourself and then the way i also which to be treated : good !
