Happy to be back to our break features serie with at least two marketing tips. Last selection was in october with Kahneman, Yogi Berra and stuff to tweet. As usual, my selection of the week follow the Rule of Three. Some of you asked me why I have choose to follow the rule of three instead of a duo or quartet ? The practise shows me that using the Rule of Three allows you to express concepts more completely, to emphasize your points, and last but not least to increase the memorability. As an example, I will use Aristotle three pillars of a good public speaking to introduce the features of the week. Let me show you, what I got you this saturday !
Meet Ethos, Pathos, Logos your three posts hosts :
- For Aristotle Ethos is your level of credibility as perceived by your audience, that why I linked him to this post How to define a business personality ?
- As Pathos is the quality which appeals to the emotions of the audience, Eleanor Roosevelt quote about fear was the perfect post to be linked to this host.
- Logos synonymous with a logical argument needed a post based on facts, statistics, and evidence such as 3 Tips to create effective Sign-Up Forms that increase sales
I hope this selection will provide ideas and inspiration for you . If you have more to say about Aristotle three pillars or the three rules adaptations, let me know in the comments.
La barre est haute cette semaine. No ethos, pathos and logos in english it’s too complicate in english. But the topics are great.

Oooo don’t worry Xavier, I’ll write about it later on in french…Thanks for reading…
Good proposals. Will start with the quote. A little thing to correct at the end of your post. Otherwise, yes the rule of three is a classic I have learned at school with the first essay in french and philosophy (intro, developpement, conclusion). You also have the christian one with father, son and holy spirit.
Humm…Souvenirs, souvenirs… Oh yeah, I didn’t thought about the famous Trinity but you’re right…Thanks just correct it…
Ideas not really but it’s always a good inspiration to read your posts.
I see my dear, don’t worry about it…Next read will probably feets you more. Smiles !
Aristotle believed that logos should be the most important of the three persuasive appeals. That might be true sometimes regarding of the audience. Altough talking about B to C, my conclusion is that 90 % of time you’ve got to be believed to be heard.
