Monday quote with James Newton Howard

grace bailhache quote james newton howard

Dear readers, I’m still shopping my blog « stash » and came across this post that didn’t had the chance to be read by a lot of you and update it, for us to exchange about the subject. Monday quote appointment is meant to share sayings and quotes from people both living or from the past. I choose them all for their relevance in today’s world. As business owners, we talk a lot about ways to grow our businesses. After all, the goal is to sell more and make more money. But there is such a thing as a business working too fast instead of doing an excellent job.  When that happens, it can be bad news for us as entrepreneurs. One of the first things that happens when entrepreneurs go too fast, is they neglect the customer service. When this happens, complaints rises and word will start to spread about your business’s incompetence. It’s imperative that you nip this problem in the bud before the damage becomes irreversible.  James Newton Howard  American film score composer, orchestrator and music producer quotes says it in few words :

People forget how fast you did a job – but they remember how well you did it.

Nowadays it seems as if everyone wants ‘the secret’ – the secret to success, the secret to more money, the secret to better relationships, the secret to losing weight, and on and on. What about the secret to improve yourself in your work, your business ?

What do you think?  See you on the comments !

  7. Ciao Grace I like the quote. The world is not moving faster, but we seem to have more opportunities to be riddled with distractions. And the core problem with a lot of projets of any other sort is the need for time and also of time spent alone, sequestered from others to grown. But you have to be careful not waiting too long otherwise you loose everything because someone else do it before.

    Ale

  9. Ottimo Grace. There is a saying in martial arts: you have to go slow to go fast. Do you know it ?The idea is that you have to be relaxed to move as quickly as you are capable of. No matter how, constructive thought and interaction require time, you need to think about your work for a while, in a certain way, and then return to it and approach it from a different angle. And perhaps with added insight fron chosen others persons.

    1. Dear Luca, I’m not familiar with this saying so thank you for sharing it. I believe they will be very helpful.

  10. I think that as long as we keep on stepping time is not an issue if you do it properly.

    1. Short but so powerful Riccardo, thank you, looking forward to hearing much more from you !
