3 free advertising I used to Promote my Business online

grace bailhache free promotions businessSummer is coming to an end dear readers. Some are actively preparing for the return and back to school supplies for those of you who have kids. So, I take this opportunity to propose you an update of an old article, that  only few have read on the first publication in January 2012. I brought some additional items to share with you the good and bad experiences that I had so far on this journey. First of all, you have to know that I use both free  and paid advertising in general. But here I wanted to talk about the 3 free advertising I used in 2012 and 2013 to Promote my Business online because while setting new goals at the start of the year, I realized that in order to go to the next level I had to leave some of them and to give a try to new ones. So let start first with last year ways I used to advertise my business

Advertising #1: Blogging

By providing fresh, relevant, informative content on my blog, which is linked to my personal site, I wanted to be found easily by people I could help and also be noticed by search engines.

How does it work ? : not as good as I wished in 2012 since I hadn’t blog for 6 months last year and at the worst moment possible, I lost the end of summer, halloween and Christmas opportunities for business. But I did much better in 2013 and finally the combination website and blog really get me some leads and clients.

What is to be improved to reach the new goals : I’ll be doing more collabs and hops in the future and promotiong more the blog offline  and in social media.

Advertising #2: Email marketing 

I did offer 2 ebooks and ecourses as a hook to start my email marketing campaign.

How does it work ? : better then I expected but not as good as it could have been in 2012 because of a lack of follow up from me. Then in 2013 I improved the whole things, setted up  a better follow up after entry and an offline way to reach the people who sign in. And its works pretty cool but I get a little tired of this phone calls mission and reduce my business to copywriting and real marketing campaign, strategy is really my thing. I stopped the hook funnel.

What is to be improved to reach the new goals : working on case studies marketing strategies to have a before/after to show oof

Advertising #3: Business community

I have join two business communities and a kind of business directory

How does it work ? : the traffic goal was reached but the social exchange didn’t work as well as it could because of a lack of constantly and follow up from me that was 2012. I improved the connections and also reduce my business target, so 2013 became more a B to C work than a B to B. That also changes my connections strategies, I invest more time on building a you tube community.

What is to be improved to reach the new goals : consistency, worldwild connections and interractions are really the new challenges, the final coach is to build and maintain an active community both on blog, facebook and you tube.

Well this is more or less what I currently did the previous year and this year too. So far, so good, my 100 days challenges changes my goals for 2014 and I’ll doing things differently for 2015 to come and I’m working on it right now.

  4. Whatever you do I still learn something but I don’t what are the good things to do when it’s come to promotion. I follow supernatural for 2 years now and she mostly use facebook and twitter to engage and promote her videos. Does it helps you ?

    1. Of course it’s helps ! Well Isobel ! I plead guilty I haven’t checked your favorite youttuber yet, but be sure that I will as soon I’ll start my homework on the best ways top youttubers use to stand out of the crown.

  5. Depending of your niche social media is really my best friend, the website landing page hook works but as a short campaign. I only have one client who really crack it out, it’s never works for anyone else. So my advice is for you to build a strong community around your you tube channel, you have the style, the voice you can stand out from the crown but only if you have a strong community with you. Create a specific facebook group could help you. And I think you should consider pinterest or instagram.
