Last saturday my six word were Newyork my heart belongs to daddy and it has been a sort of relief to share that. Everything went wrong this week, sessions reported, appointment changes at last minute and I had to cancel a travel to Rome. Grrrrhhh ! Well there’s always a good side of every situation. Since I couldn’t enjoy either my favorite italian singer concert, either seing The Trevi Fountain, I choosed to look around and appreciate what I have in front of my eyes. Yesterday for the first day of spring, all over the country we celebrate music and everyone is invited to play outside. And guess what I spend a part of the night out listening to diverse groups of music and before that I started to play around the fountain running after my shadow because the weather was great, and soon some kids join me. It was hilarious. And at a certain point, I saw two tourists threwing coins in the fountain. That remains me again of Rome. The two girls told me they threw coins and made wishes everytime they saw a fountain with cupid or mermaid because it suppose to be lucky.
I didn’t throw a coin to make a wish, this time but I will probably to it this summer for fun, I will put my fairy tale costume and sing while throwing my precious coins in the foutain.
With Faerie coins you can divine. Just make a wish when time is right,
In crystal pools, by clear Moon light.
Or leave in woods where Faeries be,
To exchange a wish, for you to see.
Have you ever heard about this practise and would you try such a thing ?

I couldn’t say it better. For several months now, I have decided to bannish negativity from my ming. So, I try my best to do it every time I face a obstacle, it’s not always easy to see the best side, but at least I have to try, life is really too short to choose bitter.
In the Bronze and Iron Ages throughout Europe, at least, it was common to offer a sword or other valuable thing to the ‘water god’. Originally, the ‘wishes’ were prayers to the god, but in time the custom continued just because it was supposed to be ‘lucky’ and people forgot the meaning of it. I never be in Rome and never throw a coin anywhere but I like your post and idea.

Thank you coach, both for sharing your experience and knowledge.
Sometimes a bad situation forces you to notice and value something else! It can be like an awakening! Lovely post!

Welcome dear, and yes you pointed out the essence of this kind of issue. Thank you so much for dropping by.
Yes. I know that tradition well, and did so many times as a child.

Oh really that’s really wonderful, I must look at your blog presentation to see where you are located. It’s sound like, this tradition might be international after all ?
For what I know many people, Romans and the Celts included, worshipped the gods which they believed lived in or cared for natural springs. They often made offerings to these gods by throwing something of value into the spring maybe the girls were following old traditions ? I like your picture and if you were smiling like you do in your presentation picture I understand why the children wanted to play with you. Happy sunday.
I didn’t expect you to be so interested about this kind of topic, thank you so much. From time to time, it’s a good thing to awake the little boy or girl who still leave in us. All I can say is that kids and animals usually loves me. It’s a total mystery for me. I Hope you had a lovely weekend with you girls.
I think many of us have thrown coins into fountains or pools and made wishes. Like Mlissabeth, I did it in childhood. I probably still would if I were at any place that had that sort of story and tradition.

I’m glad to read you dear, it’s means that you cold is gone. Your comments really surprise and comfort me in a way. Probably that people surrounded by fountains just don’t care anymore, they so use to it, I don’t know, I thanks those tourists for reminding me.
I did this as a child, and I would do it still today. I think that indulging in whimsy is a good thing. =)

Now that you say it, I think you’re absolutely right, we should allow ourselves a temporary eccentricity from time to time.
Every time you can enjoy life do it and next time call me so that I can come to play too.
I will try I don’t promesse but before 2014 something will happen.
