Senegal for Postcard Friendship Friday #170

grace bailhache senegal postcardI’m so happy to be back to the Postcard Friendship Friday  « rendez-vous ». After Boston Beacon Hill, let me take you to West Africa with this postcard from Senegal. Last week, I made it to visit all the participants, I didn’t comment all the blogs posts, but I saw, learned, discovered new stories,  places and people too. I appreciate those little things that make me happy. This postcard is very special to me because of the sender who was a postcard and letters lover.  My friend Nik and his wife bought a house in Senegal years ago and they invited me years after years but I always had a good reason not to go. He told me a lot about how the Baobab tree is  useful for senegalese, they cook baobab leaves in stews, they eat its fruit and also boil the bark in water to make a medicine for fever. I still can hear his voice talking with passion about my next visit to Senegal, our visit to Goree’s island, Tambacounda and others places I don’t even remember. SiC !  Nik is gone to heaven last year, the house is sold, and all that reminds me that life is short.

This is my entry for Postcard Frienship Friday  feel free to join us !

  1. I have been in Senegal with my family at Cap Skirring very nice country. I didn’t buy cards there but I like your baobab Grace.

    1. Oh oh you never told me that. Honestly I have no idea about where this place could be, but I’ll google it !

    1. Well I’ve heard about it and saw some pics, thanks for sharing sweetie, you really love your president.
