Dr Wayne Dyer renowned author and speaker in the field of self-development is one of my favorite motivational coach. For two years now, he energise my mind and soul. Since two years now, I often listen to his CD. This article is an update for new readers of the blog, I hope that those who have already read it, will find new informations to move forward. Here are the ten principles of The power of intention
✒ Have a Mind that is Open to Everything and Attached to Nothing
To have an open mind means to be willing to consider or receive new and different ideas. I enterely relate to this. As a solopreneur in order to keep up, we must beflexible and adaptive, open to new experiences and new ways of looking at things.
✒ You Can’t Give Away What You Don’t Have
How much kindness, joy, peace, willing to help do you have in you ? Once I start not only thinking about what was in for me during a cold call, meeting of whatever, people I could help became more receptive. That inspires me and changes everything.
✒ There are no Justified Resentments
What motivated me the most in this part was the metaphore of the snake and miss Thompson story. No more blame is a new way of thinking for me since last december. I still work on it but I don’t sleep anymore with any resentments.
✒ Don’t Die with your Music Still in You
I was happy to hear the reference to the wonderful Leo Tolstoy’s short story : The Death of Ivan Ilych. I was really into Russian authors in my early sixteen. Getting back to reading helps me a lot to regain the desire to keep the inner music alive.
✒ Embracing Silence
I can easily relate to this principle. My worst nightmare is to never be able to have a moment of silent during a whole day. I do my meditation every morning, some days less time then I wish and this « routine » started two years ago really empowered me. More energy, less questions or more action.
✒ Give Up Your Personal History
Something I still work a lot on, probably because of the fear of loosing good memories. Step by step, I’m taking away old clothes. Good advice to let go of the past.
✒ You Can’t Solve a Problem with the Same Mind That Created It
This is a principle I was familiar with, especially with Einstein’s famous quote on « Insanity doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. » Last january I started to really leave this principle.
✒ Treat Yourself As If You Already Are What You’d Like to Become
My father was the first to show me how to visualize but along the way, I lost this habit who knows why. Strangly it’s also the principle I had most difficulties with. It’s my working in progress.
✒ Treasure Your Divinity
I like the way Dr Dyer talk about the « source » and being God ourselves.
✒ Wisdom is Avoiding All Thoughts That Weaken You
Fear, anger, stress I try my best to avoid by talking all thoses negatives thoughts. It’s not always easy, some days harder than others but at the end, it’s really works.
