I didn’t knew it since a week ago, but National Postal Day is celebrated on October 10 every year. Were you aware of that ? Though, we are living in an age of emails, mobile phones and faxes etc but it is the postal service that has remained the largest mode of communication for older people and for the majority of people in some countries where the technologies are not at every corner of the street and as a postcard lovers I couldn’t be happier. With the arrival of new age technologies and new modes of communication, the usage of traditional mailing services has reduced even for me, but as lover of postcards and letters (yes I’m a dinosaure and I like it…), its remain my favorite source of communication. So on october 10, I will celebrate this day on my Facebook page all day with games. Hope you’ll join me to play and learn.
I’m a little old fashion when it’s come to letters, I still write some letters, less unfortunately. Unfortunately not because I regret the past, but just because handwritters letters are more personal, they moved me even years later. I’m not sure I’ll save mails and texts for years like I saved my friendship and love letters.
What about you, are you still writting letters or cards ?
I have not written a letter in such a long time! I do send cards to you and another friend in Europe but that all. Good idea.
Jay
You’re not the only one Jake. Thanks for stoppin by to this one too, you’re an angel.
You are right Grace, writing letters by hand is getting out of fashion but I still write at least one letter per month to the members of my family I don’t see often, and also to close friends from overseas. I’ll play with you if I can on Facebook.
J.L
Ooo coach, you do better than me, thanks god I’m not the last dinosaur. Can’t wait to be back on FB it’s been a while… Ouch !!!
Yes I do write some letters but less than 5 in a year. Maybe I will do it for this special day.
Alph
I see dear Alphonsyne. Thanks for reading and commenting.
This day exist in France too ? Your correct, Grace. Hand written letters make it more personal. I still write to my mother and brothers and sisters for two or three time a year.
Ah Michel, I can imagine when you do it and how since you don’t often use the normal post in Congo. At least you don’t forget your mother that good.
Grace, I haven’t ridden a letter for years now.. I either call family and friends or email them..

I see Xavier, I guess that the signs of times. Thanks for sharing !
I have not written a letter in such a long time Grace, last time was for my grand ma before she passed away. I do send cards but I love to email and now facebook.
One more cyber writer, yep Heather, with the daily shares on FB handwritten letters sounds really obsolete for most of people.
I use to write a lot when I was a teenage but not very much now. I like love letters of famous people. My favorite are the letters exchanged between Sand and Musset. I think you know at least one very famous Grace ?
Ah ah ah Philippe, that a huge surprise for me. Well, yes I fancy love letters too, Hugo, Flaubert but also « les amants du siècle » and yes I guess I know which letter you’re talking about, with a double meaning ? Smiles !
love the idea !!!
I’m glad you do Isobel.
Trop dommage j’étais si contente de pouvoir rejouer sur FB, bonne chance à Turin. Happy post day
Oui je sais ma chère Geneviève, seulement voilà, quand çà ne veut pas, çà ne veut pas, et en ce moment, le temps me glisse entre les doigts, mais je me rattraperais prochainement. Et merci de ta visite.
