How to define your business personality was a brief topic on my facebook page. The fact is that Grace Bailhache’s blog remains the best way to save a subject that matters. I’am working with a local solopreneur who hired me to help to build her business marketing strategy. Thing is that we have a lot to do, but we already made a big step by working on how she could define her business personality.
After hearing what people have to say about them and how they see their business without any pression only by talking, I have some basics questions I ask to help them release what they really have in mind. Our personnalities often lead us to specific types of business statements but not automatically. If your a lilestyle seeker motivate by being in control of your business, he doesn’t mean that you’re not motivate by revenue, growth and profit as could be a business builder. That the reason why I often encourage people who contact me to make it more personal. My client sees hersel as passoniate professional who loves what she do and wouldn’t imagine doing anything else and she’s actually working for a big company but doesn’t like it anymore and feels like being an entrepreneur herself. So what we work on lately was to see how she sees her business and I ask her to think of her business as a person and describe me the characteristics (colours, tastes, smells, celebs references..) this person should have or reminds according to her. She was quiete sceptical when we started but I really loved her smile when she end up the practice. I think that we should do it again and again from time to time, because our visions may evolve sometime.
Have you ever try thinking about your business this way ?
Let me know if you have others ways to come to the same point describing your business personality.
Love it really big boss. Never thought about it that way. Is this a training you’ll be offering on the new web site or what ? I miss so many things lately and you didn’t call me back either yesterday. On my way for the facebook pages now hope to have you directly at least for a little word.

The classic questions I know are who are we talking to and what is the message? Your story give me a different opinion.

Well, yes those are the first Xavier, but it’s not enough to define your business…
Developing a Strong Brand Identity is a process. You should explore this topic more further and maybe introducing the SWOT analysis.

Yes coach, I will but I need to do it properly to bring real value…To be continued in private…
Great article! Do you have a branding checklist ?
Yes and no dear ! Yes I had one I have used but I didn’t put together something like a guide to help others. Let me know what you really mean exactly by checklist !!!! It’s a good idea for a topic…Thanks !!!
We do the same before every campaign, we use the creative brief so that everyone knows exactly where we are going and who they will represents precisely.
Yes Philippe….The creative brief is a must have…I would love to hear more about your process, give me some détails if you can.
