I must thank my friend Robin for this link since I had no idea of who was Daniel Kahneman, but there so many things and people to discover, it won’t be my last, first time ! Well, Robin and I had a lot of discussions about how reminding on and on the past can be an destructive attitude and there were a time while « carpe diem » was the goal to rich for us. I found this talk really interesting. I wish you’ll enjoy this talk as much as I did.
About the talk
Nobel Laureate Daniel Kahneman asks, « What is the currency of life? » The answer shouldn’t surprise you, it’s the present moment! In this talk he explores the perils of happiness and how memory plays a role versus direct experience. The experiencing self lives in the present; the remembering self is responsible for the storytelling mind.
Hi big boss are you back home ? I must say that this article is amazing, nice written and a good video that include all significant infos. I’d like to see more posts like this and let say that the present moment is not so easy to enjoy.
xo
Thanks sweetie Robin for this nice comment. Well everything is hard in this life, but we have to try and I know you do try hard.
This video is too long for me but yes thinking of the moment is good but not enough for me, you have to think about your child future and it’s every minute of my life.
Oops Alphonsyne! Well, since the words are important in this case than anything, you could just let it flow, listening while doing something else ? What do you think about this suggestion ?
Thank you for the discovery but my english is not so good to discuss the subject in deep.
Never mind Gilou. At least you try to… Thanks to you dear !

I totally agree with Daniel Kahneman. Great video. Yes we remember most of time the changes, the significant moments, and the endings.

I don’t agree with all that he says but he’s so brilliant and fun. Yes coach, you’re right, the difference is that we all have différents significants moments, that the beauty of all this.
I like the helpful information provide on the video. I practice mindfulnessin one’s day-to-day life.xo
You’re welcome Isobel. Ooo I’m curious about your mindfulness, what is all about ?
Nothing special. I do my best to not worry if I don’t do things perfectly. I have a meditation ritual, I sit down and quietly reflect on my day, I review the entire day mindfully.
