3 things that turned our boring weekend into a magical Easter

easter magicalEaster is a religious holiday, but some of its customs, such as Easter eggs, are likely linked to pagan traditions. I have been told that, The egg, an ancient symbol of new life, has been associated with pagan festivals celebrating spring. From a Christian perspective, Easter eggs are said to represent Jesus’ emergence from the tomb and resurrection. In my house, we can have both the bunny and remember what Easter is truly about.  When I was a kid, I loved hunting for Easter Eggs and all of the treats.  I think there’s room for everyone and all the celebrations.

Some of my friends are christians, some are believers without religious but we are all books and brunches fans. Things is that our easter ritual began a little boring lately, so we decided to change it over and those 3 little things we did just turned our boring weekend into the most magical easter ever.

1. A brunch dress code

We never establish any dress code before. Having to dress for the theme just happened to pleased everyone. Our dress code was that everyone should wear « white and red » colors. It’s was easy to understand, and easy to obtain.

2. Easter Eggstravaganza menu

Usually, we use to meet after the church office directly at the restaurant. This time is was Eggstravaganza menu which has two rules : number one everyone had choose and order in advanced his 2 favorites foods, number two, everyone had a personalise menu with his name on it, plus a small funny personal anecdote.

3. Human size easter Bunny

This was probably the most intimidate and funny thing to do. Just as some children are eager to take a seat on Santa’s lap during christmas, we never try out the big and hairy easter bunny. So this year, we gave it a try and hired one and it was funny once we got over the initial shock of seeing a human-sized rabbit.

How did you celebrate your easter ?
